Looks like a World War 2 Totenkopf (Death's Head) ring from Hitler's reich. It being gold, it belonged to an officer. You own something of $$$. Hope this info helps! =)
This is medical. The caduceus. The Totenkopf does make one wonder. Waiting to hear what other CW members say.
