    Found this metal detecting in east TN. It is an area were civil war battle item have been found. No marking on item. It is fairly heavy. It has threads on pipe. Just wanting any information I can get on the item.

      Looks like a hooka... might of been a smoking device .

      Yes I believe it is a smoking device. How old?

      I would think 60-70's. Maybe kids "borrowed" it and took it to the woods to smoke it and left it. I would expect more corrosion if it was much older.

      I don't believe that solid brass will corrode. It may tarnish a bit.
