On a warm fall evening, sitting on the front porch in your porch rocker, you might get this small anvil and lay it across your thigh, just above your knee and with the help of a mallet, crack nuts on the protruded dimpled stem of this nut cracker. Now, how about that to pass the evening along?
It is made of cast iron and the nut will rest comfortably on top without falling off due to the cupped shaped protrusion.
I tried it and it doesn't (as one might think) hurt the thigh or knee when you hit the nut with the mallet. The one thing that takes practice is that you don't hit the walnut, pecan, or hickory nut too hard,..... just enough to crack it........ hotairfan
