Kralik martelé with rigaree and two small mount holes?

Does anyone have any idea about the two small holes at the rim of this little (11.5cm) vase? The holes are perfectly drilled, about 1mm diameter and ever so slightly off centre and angled 5-10 degrees off "true".

Was it to receive some sort of metalwork, and, if so, does anyone have any examples? It can't have been much, as the applied glass prevents much going on at the sides, and the vase has a foot, so not some enormous cradle as others have posted.
