I have had this family stein now for many years now and I am trying to find out more information about it and it's potential value. Any Stein experts have any ideas?

Here's the steinmarks page for Villeroy & Boch. It appears you have the 1874-1909 used mark for Mettlach. The number 485 is the pattern number which I found another shown on another link;
