This Turtle baby was on Antiques Roadshow in 2005 and was estimated at 35,000 to $40,000. The piece we have has been outside for a while. Isn't she sweet? It has been at the same La Jolla Estate as the other piece b y Charles Hafner. It is listed at Edith Parsons but does not have a foundry mark. It stands 30" High. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

By my limited observation of values given by Antiques Roadshow, I usually figure real selling value at 1/2 of what they quote. Really beautiful piece.
Blunderbuss is correct. Antique Roadshow appraisers consistently over-estimate auction/selling values. And, why wouldn't they? Many have a vested financial interest in seeing the values of items rise because these same appraisers own or work for major auction houses. The conflicts of interest run rampant on that show.
BTW - if it were mine, I would have moved it indoors years ago. That blue green patina is actually bronze disease/damage from being subjected to wet conditions over the decades.

The brassy color is where it was over-cleaned before. Condition-wise that not as big of a problem as the bronze disease.
Cogito. What is this "bronze disease" you refer to? Is this something other than normal oxidation (patina) that maybe "eats" into bronze? Is this some disease that only happens in open air? I'm quite used to seawater corrosion. Teach me something.
