Another wonderful purchase during our fantastic Moroccan vacation. This blanket is huge and vibrantly colored. It measures approximately 200cm x 400cm! Which is about the size of the shop where this very nice, young Moroccan man made it on his Handloom. (His name escapes me, but I will find it) If I told you how much we paid for it, you would probably call the Polizei! He took the time to stop working and showed us the variety of wools he uses in his creations. Much of it was pre-dyed, but he showed us some of the raw wool, which he first, spins into yarn, then he can custom color, using these amazing inorganic solids, which looked like powdered chalk or spices! Absolutely amazing to see, "How it's Made".

We recommend a trip to the north of Africa, if you haven't been.
Oh, and the food was also a treat.
    Ciao!

It is a beautiful rug and how good to see the artisan at work. The best sort of tourist piece!
