Found in a box at an estate sale. Came with no info. Wondering how old? What kind of rifle it was for? Where it was made?

Most likely it is a WWII Japanese bayonet. There should be markings on the blade just under the hand guard.

The sharp curved "C" lower guard was supposedly for parrying a sword, pike, bayonet etc. blade & possibly break it.
