Weekend auction shelf for $5 included this little surprise!! At 10cm high, this little weedpot, in a lot with a couple of crystal pieces and a Turkish bottle, was designed by Swedish potter, Gunnar Nylund (1904-1996). A well-known ceramist as well as a sculptor, architect, and glass artist.
His works are very well known and now one piece adorns the mantel at Highland House :)
Height: 10 cm. Mark: 'R' for Rörstrand, surrounded by three crowns, and below it, Sverige ('Sweden'). Initials 'GN' for Gunnar Nylund
I would know his stuff is great and I have some!!
