    I think this is a very old wood Engineer's Survey type rule with brass hinge. It is 6 inches long folded and has different scales on each side.Has P.E. scribed by hand on the hinge.

      Jt: I have a #7 Lufkin Rule catalog,dated 8-15-1947 could not find your ruler listed.Lufkin also has a #12-c catalog that covers precision tools. Perhaps it is listed in that one.Sorry couldn't help you more.Your may not be a Lufkin---Stanley also made many wood items.
