This is made of cast steel galvanized coating, no markings. It is about 9" long. From my late uncles collection, Has teeth along the slotted opening.

I forgot to mention, the lid is hinged and in the "open" position in the pictures. patchas

I remember seeing them being used yrs. ago in places like Jamaica, Haiti etc..
