I found this among my mother's family heirlooms. I believe it was a gift to my great grandfather from my great grandmother and maybe a ruby watch fob. There are 2 curved hooks on the back side of the ruby. The bar on the heart-shaped end looks like it should move or open but doesn't seem to. The chain is 16" long. I would truly appreciate any information regarding this piece. Thanks.

It's made of copper, so no ruby. Most likely to be glass. Yes, please give the patent number. Your last two pictures are blurry.
