    This is a mounted to a wooden box with a small drawer. The tool is made from brass and has a small hook operated by a lever.
    The brass portion is 8 inches long.
    I picked this up at a thrift store and am trying to figure out what it is.

      Part of a balance scale. Unfortunately you are missing the beam and pans (and weights).
