Age of chair?

Hi all. So I bought this chair with the intent of Reupholstering/painting for my baby’s nursery. But when I started taking it apart realized it’s probably much older then what I had thought. But I can’t seam to find anything quite like it. It’s a platform rocker. Thinking maybe I ought not paint it... and maybe shouldn’t have ripped out the filling. Any insight into this beautiful piece would be appreciated. Thanks.
