Any information on these is appreciated. They have no markings, but they must be before 1940, They come in a specialized red leather case.

Actually, I had a second look and it looks rather painted/enameled on the front:(

I looked again and it seems like its metal cut into shapes and enameled. But I'm not sure how they would have attached the metal pieces...
