I Purchased this floor lamp at an antiques auction about 18 years ago and never wired it or put a shade on it.
I just loved the French look on this heavy metal lamp. The auction house ships in containers full of antiques from France and Germany most of the time. That's why I say it came from overseas but I don't know who made it or where. The candle part is made of wood and the lamp comes apart in sections with a long all thread running down the middle.
Probably French rococo revival late 19th century.
