IN Oct of 1890 3 guys in Cal decided to start an Oil Company and named it the Union Oil Company with its headquarters in ElSegundo. Eventually Chevron bought them out. Same old story of big fish eating littler fish. I guess they saw the success that Phillips had when they added 66 to their name so they up gamed Phillips and went to 76.
We got this 6' porcelain sign in Wyoming last week and couldn't wait to get it on a pole in the Lakeside Storage annex parking lot. Yes the sign is placed a little crooked in the ring cause I was gone when they installed it for me. Oh well!
Be glad it wasn't West Indians or it might be upside-down.
