I am excited to see one of these in real life. I've only read them in books, on the internet and seen other people have mentioned these before. How cool is that. When I say this, I though oh great another burlap brooch. then I looked closer and noticed the clasp, I got excited. I have never seen one of these before. I wonder who it is. hm..
This piece was won at Auction, it was in a jewelry lot from Ottawa, Ohio
Woven hair of the deceased person was a treasure to the surviving family. This mourning brooch is beautiful.
I’m a bit confused about the reference to “burlap”.
Burlap fabric is woven in the same manner.
I have 2 brooches with the burlap type fabric with glued flowers.
