    Wiss Wiss18 Snips

    Marked: Forged Steel

    Picked these up today. Made by J.Wiss & Sons Newark, N.J.. I believe these are industrial tin snips? I think I'm going to put it up on the garage beam with my garage art vintage tool collection.

    "J. Wiss & Sons Company was founded in 1848 by Jacob Wiss, a 31 year old immigrant from Switzerland, was an experienced cutler and gunsmith."

    The company's history is very interesting...from barely making it through a huge drop in business after WWI to becoming a necessity and major supplier to help the war efforts of WWII. I will add a link in the comments for further reading
