Vintage Character Novelties Disney Donald Duck

These two hand puppets were made by the Character Novelties Co. and Walt Disney Productions. The bodies and hats are made of mohair. Though somewhat rudimentary, each has certain details bringing them to a higher level. Those are replacement eyes on the Donald on the left. It wasn’t easy finding oval google eyes. When I found him, he had only one eye, a concave oval eye which made for a great expression, I wanted him to have two eyes. I love the large hands which have a winglike affect.. And the lines on the back of the hands.
Donald on the right has felt eyes. They were cut to give him that all too familiar dissatisfied, almost angry expression. Both have inseam tags.
