This was in my grandfathers belongings. It's a military canteen. He was a POW during WW1, and served in the Welsh (Welch) Regiment. But the name on the canteen isn't his, so I'm guessing it was a gift. The canteen looks to be Russian? It's dated 1900. Made of aluminum.

      Another great trench art item!

I agree it looks Russian and "Bapwaba" is Russian for Warsaw. In 1900 Russia controlled Poland, so it would make sense.

The engraving is great. Unit identified items are very desirable to trench art collectors.

      Thanks for sharing,

      Scott
