I'm not a huge fan of Kennedy Half Dollars but I do like silver. This is an uncirculated coin with a beautiful luster. The luster starts at the top right and angles to the bottom left in the photo. This is called a cartwheel luster and contributes greatly to the lovely eye-appeal. A coin that is circulated loses its luster quickly and certainly can't maintain a cartwheel very long. 1964 is the only year that Kennedy Half Dollars are 90% silver. Years 1965-1970 are 40% silver. All other years are copper and nickel.

Thanks for the love PhilDavidAlexanderMorris. 1964 was the last year that the U.S. minted 90% silver coins. Most switched to copper-nickel compositions except Kennedy Halves minted between 1965 and 1970 are 40% silver and 60% copper. After 1970 they switched to the copper nickel composition of our dimes and quarters.
