    Picked this up few days ago at local flea market.There's OD painting remains-any Info if this helmet was also used by US Dept. of Defense/US civil defense in WWII era?

      The Skullgard was actually a fire helmet produced by Mine Safety Appliances from the 1930's to the 1960's - Replaced by the Topguard in the early 1960's
