Like I have said before, California and Asia are inextricably linked. Pottery and ceramics are no different, as evidenced by displays at the Society of the California Pioneers, which I visited last week.
The first image shows two Japanese glazed ceramic tea cups, which were hand-painted and have a dragon design. The second is a glazed ceramic Japanese vase or bottle with a beautiful landscape and two women in kimonos.
Does anyone know when these come from or who may have designed them? Thanks!
