I love plastic bangles, especially in the summer. These are some recent finds. The beige one in the front and the orange one seem to be hand-carved. The second beige one just matches the carved one in colour and size, so I added it to my little collection.

Mary, I read on line that "Scrubbing Bubbles" bathroom cleaner can be used to test for Bakelite. So I used it because I couldn't get my hands on Simichrome.
I am not sure if the results are reliable. The two carved bangles both produced a slightly yellow hue but the plain one didn't. Anyway, I didn't trust the results so I just posted all of them as plastic. Have you tried other methods to test for Bakelite?
