Japanese Oriental Mid Century Table Lamps w/ Woven Metal Shades

Ceramic mid century oriental lamp with wooden base and woven metal shade. According to previous owner, shades are original to the piece. Not known if this piece displays Chinese, Japanese or other oriental writing and what it may say. Close-up of artist's signature included in pics. Very curious as to artist's name and country of origin. The metal weave appears to be brass or brass in color. Very cool "etched" texture on lamp base particularly where the dragons appear on the top and bottom black bands on the lamps. After hours of researching, I could find no others like it online. Although only one pictured, I have a pair of these. Thanks in advance for your input. It is greatly appreciated.
