Several years ago, I found this lamp in an antique store. I had no idea what it was used for, but the price was low, so I bought it. There are no markings so I thought that someone built it in their shop. Recently I was looking on the net to see if there might be another one out there and lo and behold there is one for sale on Ebay. The seller claims that it is a caboose lantern that was made by Handlan Burk in St Louis for the Pensylvania Railroad.
The lamp measures 15 inches tall and 6 inches wide at the base.
My lamp is not for sale, I am just wanting to find out its origin.
I don't know why the pictures keep showing up sideways. The pictures in my file are upright and I don't know how to right them.
