This was in a bag of toys at a local SA store with other older plastic soldiers as well as newer ones. It's wood and wire and hand painted. Under side of soldier is marked Germany.
I'm not sure country of soldier but maybe US as horses blanket is blue with red and white trim, just a guess. There was also a metal knight with lance on horse that was marked England, and a couple Marx plastic Indians. The soldiers arm has a crack but otherwise in good shape.

Very nice soldier & horse toy, my brother's loved playing with them as kids, some of the best designed were German made
