    What type of fossil is this? Was it a plant or some sort of creature? It's only a few inches long.

      It looks like a Trilobite. That's the closest thing that I can come up with.

      I don't believe this is a trilobite.
      It looks more like a fish because there's definitely a tail there and I've not seen a trilobite with such a tail.
