Whitehall-Hammond Agate Clock 1928-31

This is a rare example of an agate clock case by Whitehall-Hammond. The clock had been stored in an environment that was hot and cold, as the paint of the face of the clock was buckling. The movement was extremely dirty and the spin started flywheel was grimy. It sounded like a grinder shop when I first plugged it in. I noticed when I opened it up, someone had written "Hammond" in the clock cavity of the case.
Once cleaned up inside and out, it runs perfectly and is quiet. I love the unusual color of the stone with the clock face.
