the fitting has either been upgraded or this is a recent reproduction
the lamp certainly looks better 'on' than 'off'

Possibly repro, there are a few companies making similar.
Whether it is or not it's a great lamp.
very likely a repro from 1980-90s but thick heavy glass and decent workmanship
