Here is a cool Art Nouveau vase I got on eBay AU from a local seller (just a train trip to pick it up so I saved on postage)
It is made from opaline white glass with a warm tone, & has an intense iridescent finish. Interesting 6 - lobed, twisted form topped off with a silver plated rim. It appears as though there is fine gilding between the lobes.
Last photo shows it with another recently acquired example of Art Nouveau "mother of pearl" glass, also with a silver top.
Bohemian origin, circa 1900. Possibly by Kralik.

would I be right in saying the train trip wasn't so much on saving postage as removing the worry of waiting for it to arrive in one piece :)

It did cross my mind, having had a breakage recently. Also gave me an opportunity to check out a couple of op shops as well!
