This is a mystery purse that I think is 14k. The weight is about 200 grams and I think it is a very early purse by the substantial weight of it. It is marked 14 and something else behind the marking, but I cant make it out. I compared it with a purse that looks exactly like it on another auction site and it was a CARTER-GOUGH 14k purse. You can see that this purse was painted with some sort of gold to hide the rust or black tarnish around the inside of the rim of the purse. The chain is a figaro. Can you please help me figure out the maker or if I am right let me know. thank you

Usually called a chain mail purse. Maybe look for any other maker because they were made by lots of manufacturers in the 1920's when most came out. Nothing here is copyrighted so a specific maker is not known. Mystery Solved mark it as. It must be only gold plate on metal if some has been repainted. It is marked with no gold. The silver ones are marked usually !~
