This is another rare bronze coin from the Qing Dynasty, featuring its unique "Guangbian" (smooth edge) and "Straight Tail Official Dragon" design—an iconic representative of officially minted coins in the late Qing Dynasty.
Unlike common serrated-edge coins, its smooth edge is a special official mint edition, boasting a clear coin surface, exquisitely carved dragon patterns, and distinct features of the official dragon design. In this post, I will showcase the smooth edge details, straight-tail dragon motifs, and character inscriptions of this coin, along with the identification points of the Guangbian Official Dragon edition and its significance in Qing Dynasty copper coin collections.
I welcome all fellow collectors focusing on Qing Dynasty copper coin edition research to communicate and share their collection experiences with me.
