Recently acquired. A rare smaller version of the Benjamin explosion proof light (w/ crenelated head) with explosion proof mounting arm and outlet box. Dates from the 1950's. The arm really does look robotic! And is made of cast Aluminum. The globe is only 4" diameter. Normal sized versions of these are about 6" diameter and quite a bit bigger.
Uses a standard household bulb. The notches are for screwing down or unscrewing the head. The hex nut in the arm is a sealed nut for access to socket wires. What is most amazing is mine is new old stock- never been used.
