    Hi,

This swan is a brides bank or flower frog? It's 8" high, finished pontil, applied neck and reticulated(?) wings. My favorite part is his round little head. My late mother-in-law was fairly sure it was a Canadian piece. The pontil is concave and finished.

Thanks very much for the information Leah, it's so good to know the proper name for the decorations for one thing, and the intended purpose of the swan for another. Also, thanks for the information about the British glassmakers. I feel much, much closer to tracking its history down .

Leah, thankyouthankyouthankyou. Being unable to identify this piece has been really frustrating. I often wondered how something so beautiful could stay such a mystery! My mother-in-law much have loved these swans bc I have found a green, an amber and 2 clear. Thanks again for posting your finding.

Hi Leah, I believe there are 7 here - 2 or 3 colourless, 2 amber, 1 green and the cobalt one....There is a large one also, perhaps 16", I will post pics of the ones I have catalogued tomorrow and the others when I find them..... (With dimensions, since they are varied) Thanks again, Leah, for being so very helpful.

I've updated the photo area with additional photos.
I've unpacked 7 swans so far and there may be a larger one in its own box, and will post a photo when I find it.
The cobalt swan is 8" h.
      The green swan is 7 1/4" h.
      The amber swan is 10 1/2" h.
The clear swan is 7" h. and has an open beak.

      These are not pictured:
There is another amber swan at 8 3/4" h.
Also a clear swan at 6 1/2" with a single closed beak.
Also a clear swan at 6" h. which has an open beak, much more
open than the one pictured. Thanks for looking.
